A. Roberta Harris

   Agnes Roberta Cross Harris was born on July 10, 1919 in Mapleton, ND to her father, Henry Byron Cross and her mother, Lavinia Cynthia Thompson. She attended schools in Mapleton and the Interstate Business College in Fargo.

   Roberta and Ray Harris were married on January 11, 1941 and raised four children: Carolyn, Keith, Dean, and Kent. Roberta was active in Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo. She sang in the church choir, was a member of the Olivet Church Circle, quilt club, a leader of the Campfire Girls, and was active in Cub Scouts while raising her four children.

   Roberta was a wonderful seamstress, making beautiful clothes for herself and her daughter, pajamas and bathrobes, shirts and vests for her sons, and numerous beautiful quilts.

   The family enjoyed traveling and camping, beginning with a tent and gradually upgrading to travel trailers and finally to a motor home.  The family visited every state west of the Mississippi, plus a few east of the river.  Ray and Roberta eventually spent 31 winters at Venture Out Resort in Mesa, AZ. They were active members in the Good Sam Club for 32 years.

   Roberta died Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the age of 102 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. She resided by herself at home with her two cats, Teddy and Jenny in West Fargo ND.

   Survivors are daughter Carolyn (Curtis), Buffalo NY, sons Keith (Sheri), Dean (Elaine), both Tucson, AZ, and Kent (Marilyn) in West Fargo.  Grandchildren Christopher (Marilyn Augustine), Rochester NY, Kevin Harris, West Fargo, Emily Harris, Fargo, and Diane Harris, San Diego, CA and great-grandchildren Joseph, Thomas Chester, and Matthew Holmes of Rochester, NY.

   Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Florence Helen Cross, Evelyn Hazel Cross, Francis Dobrinz, Wayne Cross and her husband, Ray Harris.

Visitation: Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.  

Funeral Service: Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Olivet Lutheran Church, 1330 University Drive S, Fargo, ND.

Burial: Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 3:20 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
