William Johnson

William “Bill” Johnson, 72, of West Fargo, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018, in West Fargo.

Bill was born March 8, 1946, in Valley City, ND, to Kenneth and Betty (Munson) Johnson.  He was raised and attended a rural school near Oakes, ND, graduating from Oakes High School in 1964.  Bill continued his education for 2 years in Fargo studying Computer Science.  He started his career at Land O’ Lakes in Minneapolis and later at Fargo IMT for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota.  Bill and Connie were united in marriage on July 6, 1968 in Oakes, ND.  Bill then worked for Anchor Labs in Pharmaceutical Sales.  The family moved to Minot in 1977, where he continued his sales career.  They returned to West Fargo in 1979  for an opportunity in Agricultural Sales.  In 1986, Bill began a long career as a petroleum driver beginning with Farstad Oil and later enjoyed becoming Wayne Transport, Inc's first driver, in the FM area, driving #758 until his time of death.

Bill enjoyed a love of horses and horseback riding throughout his life, fishing, hunting, computers, planning and taking motor home trips with his family, taking care of his dogs and grand-dog and all activities that included his girls.

He was preceded in death by his parents whom he cared for until their deaths.

Grateful for sharing in his life are wife of 50 years:  Connie;  daughter:  Kristi Larkin (Chad Espegard) of West Fargo;  granddaughter:  Hailey Larkin of West Fargo; sister and brother-in-law:  Sandy (Johnson) and Jim Itter of LaConner, WA; his dogs: Charlie and Sophie, and grand-dog:  Lily.

Memorial Service:  11 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2018, Faith & Journey Lutheran Church, West Fargo.

Visitation:  An hour prior to the service.
