Vivian (Hjelmen) Hjelmen-Eggert

Vivian E. Hjelmen-Eggert, 81, of West Fargo, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

Vivian was born February 24, 1936, in Blooming Prairie, MN, delivered by her aunt Agnes Hjelmen-Vandenbrook.  She was daughter of Oscar and Esther (Hendrickson) Hjelmen.  Vivian was baptized and confirmed at Community Lutheran Church in Geneva, MN.  She was educated in a one room school and graduated from Blooming Prairie High School.  Vivian was employed at deLendrecie’s Department Store in Fargo from 1970 to 1997.  She married Eugene Eggert February 16, 1989.

She was an accomplished musician, playing the accordion, flute and organ. Vivian also was an excellent seamstress.

Surviving are a daughter:  Mary Lynn Dockter of West Fargo and a son:  Todd Emarine of West Fargo;  grandson:  Logan Eggiman of Fargo;  great-grandchildren:  Jailyn and Sophie and a brother:  Kenneth (Darla) Hjelmen of Gulf Shores, AL.

Preceding Vivian in death were her parents; husband: Eugene; son-in-law: Robert Dockter and a sister:  Delores Nelson

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m.  Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo.   

Memorial Service:  11 a.m. Thursday, West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Burial:  St. John’s Cemetery, rural Horace, ND later in the spring.
