Theodore Brown

Theodore “Ted” L. Brown, 81, West Fargo, ND formerly of Casselton, ND died on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Villa Maria, Fargo, ND.

Theodore LeRoy Brown was born on August 20, 1936 in Wadena, MN to Roy and Margaret (Kaufman) Brown.  As a child his family moved from Wadena to Hastings, NE and finally to Casselton where he graduated from High School in 1955.  He served in the US Navy from 1955 until 1959. After his honorable discharge, Theodore married Marlene Peters on November 16, 1959 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Bluffton, MN.  The couple lived in Wadena and Casselton when Theodore was a carpenter by trade.  They moved to West Fargo after his retirement.  He was a member of the Casselton VFW.

Theodore enjoyed watching football, wood working, and yard work; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Theodore is survived by his wife of 57 years Marlene, six children: Jeff, Jerry (Jolene), Dean (Cheryl), David (Mavis), Lisa Meyers, and Bill (Heidi) ,15 grandchildren: Stephanie Brown, Samantha Brown, Alexis Brown, Kayla Brown, Jamilee Brown, Jacob Brown, Drew Brown, Tanner Meyers, Connor Meyers, Devon Meyers, Kenedi Brown, Kade Brown, Kwinci Brown, Angela Brekke, and Tina (Justin) Docken along with eight great-grandchildren:  Ben Brown, Landon Docken, Keaton Docken, Breanna Herbranson, Taylor Sandhofner, Tesia Sandhofner, Katana Sandhofner, and Parker Sandhofner.

Theodore was preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael, brother-in-law Duane Hersch and sister-in-law Myrna Brown.     

Visitation: Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 6 – 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, Casselton with a prayer service at 7 PM.

Funeral: Friday, September 15, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Casselton with visitation an hour before the service.

Burial: St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery, Casselton following the service.
