Roger Harrington

Roger B. Harrington, 74, Fargo, ND died on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Meadows on University, Fargo.

Roger Burton Harrington was born on July 28, 1944 in Cooperstown, ND to Burton and Ruth (Taylor) Harrington.  Roger grew up in Sutton, ND and attended school in Glenfield, graduating in 1962.  He attended college, obtaining a degree in Computer Programming.

Roger married Diane in 1964.  They had one child together; Shari Lynn. He started his working career as a truck driver for many different companies. He worked as a driver for Holsum Bread Company out of Cooperstown, drove for Bridgeman, and sold mobile homes out of Colorado and Minot.  Roger married Carol Bangert in 1976. After driving truck, Roger began working for Valley Bus, where he would transport many sports teams along with others all over the upper Midwest. He also worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Roger retired in April 2018.

Roger had many interests.  He loved to watch old sitcoms, especially “The Rifleman”, “All in the Family”, "Andy Griffin", and the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.  The Minnesota Twins was really important to him, he even went to 57 ballgames in Minnesota over the years.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing Cribbage, and golfing.  With his years as a driver, Roger loved to drive to different places and to travel; his favorite vacation destination was Las Vegas.

Roger is survived by his wife Carol, of Fargo, ND, daughter Kathy (Gordon) Grant, of West Fargo, ND, son-in-law Ernest Geist, of Moorhead, MN, daughter Kim (Butch) Fuss, of West Fargo, ND, daughter Karen (Robert) Schulz, of Moorhead, MN, daughter Shari (Don) Davis, of Grand Junction, CO, and son Kurt (Kimberly) Johnson, of Horace, ND; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two brothers: Richard (Cathy) Harrington, of Cincinati, OH and Gerald (Sharon) Harrington, of Moorhead, MN.

Roger was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, infant brother David, daughter Kay Geist, nephew Ronn Harrington, granddaughter Christie Marie Stolz, and numerous aunts and uncles.

Visitation:  Monday, June 10, 2019 from 2 PM until 3 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Memorial Service: Monday, June 10, 2019 at 3 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.
