Rodney Ensrud

Rodney Ensrud, 73, Fargo, ND died on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.

Rodney Michael Ensrud was born June 26, 1944, at McVille, ND, the son of Bennie and Flora (Turcotte) Ensrud.  He was raised in Pekin, ND and graduated in 1962 from the Pekin High School.  Rod then entered the US Navy. Upon discharge, he attended business and mechanic schools in Fargo.  Rod married Patricia Davidson on September 10, 1966 in Moorhead.  The couple lived in Moorhead and later Fargo.  He was employed selling construction and building supplies.

Rod enjoyed woodworking,  coin collecting,  maintaining his home and yard, playing softball and cards.  He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Fargo. Above all, Rod enjoyed spending time with his family.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife:  Pat;  children and their families:  Penny (Tim) McLagan of Fargo, and their children:  Kimberly, Greta and Joey McLagan;  Tim (Catherine) Ensrud of Osage, MN and their children:  Tyler, Taylor, Emery and Elliot Ensrud;  brothers and sisters:  Jerome (Joann) Ensrud, Pekin, ND, Marilyn (Lloyd) Ruud, West Fargo, ND, Paulette (Tom) Hinderschiet, Hot Springs, SD, David (Barbara) Ensrud, Bullhead City, AZ, Dean (Norma) Ensrud, Pekin, ND, Mary Halvorson, Emerado, ND, Mark (Elaine) Ensrud, Grand Forks, ND and Jeff Ensrud, Fargo, ND; mother-in-law:  Ernestine Davidson;  his brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law:  Judy (Scott) Ellison of Inver Grove Heights, MN,  Janet (Dan) Harrington of West Fargo,  Donna (Pat) Lavelle,  David Davidson,  Mary (Gar) Hoglund,  Ben (Lori Gerhardson) Davidson, Kathy (Kevin) Berreth and Becky (Rick) Reichenbach all of Fargo; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  infant sons:  Rodney and Michael;  brothers:  Dennis and Allan;  sister in-law:  Lois Ensrud;  brother-in-law:  Jeff Halvorson;  niece:  Elizabeth Hoglund;  nephews:  David Ensrud and Dylan Davidson; mother-in-law:  Marge Forester and father-in-law:  Eugene Davidson.

Funeral:  11 a.m.  Monday, October 9, 2017, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Fargo with visitation one hour prior.

Burial:  Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND
