Philip “Phil” Braun, 62, of Leonard, ND died Tuesday, December 11th, 2018, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
Phil was born May 29th, 1956, in Breckenridge, MN, the son of Ambrose and Rita (Pulskamp) Braun. He grew up in Rosholt, SD and graduated from Rosholt High School in 1974. After graduating he moved to Illinois. Phil returned to Rosholt in 1982 and owned a bar. He then moved to Ortonville, MN and was employed as a mechanic. On the side, Phil worked on race cars. After that, he moved to Fergus Falls, MN and worked for a landscaping company. In 1988, Phil moved to Fargo, ND and worked at Rod’s Amoco as a mechanic. In 1996, he started a career at Industrial Builders as a mechanic where he was employed until his death.
Phil married Connie Golliet on June 16th, 1989. Phil enjoyed hunting, camping, four wheeling, grilling/cooking, and hanging out with friends. He loved being outdoors and tinkering with things. Phil loved spending time with his grandchildren (and getting in trouble right beside them). He took pride in everything he did, he was a very passionate person.
He is survived by his wife, Connie. his mother, Rita Braun of Rosholt, SD; his children: Tiffany Finch of MO, Amber Braun of SD, Kirk (fiancé Lisa Halvorson) Golliet of Fargo, ND, Heather (Adam) Endres of Fargo; grandchildren: Chase Golliet, Sasha (Erik) Pratschner, Keenen (Taylor Pearce) Golliet, Kailyn (fiancé Garrett Rix) Endres, and Bailey Endres all of Fargo, ND. Jordan, John Michael and Jayden of MO; three great-grandchildren; siblings: Bill (Toni) of Rosholt, SD, Art (Pat) of St. Cloud, MN, Leo (Barb) of West Fargo, ND, Jeff (Marilyn) of Kelowna, BC, Ralph (Julie) of Zimmerman, MN, Ruth (Dayle) Haaland of Veblen, SD, John (Karen) of Rosholt, SD, Karen (Bob) Thompson of Bruce, SD and a sister-in-law Cheri of Rosholt, SD.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ambrose; grandparents; brother: Vic and a granddaughter, Cheyenne.
Memorial Service; 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo.
