Muriel Lemke

Muriel H. Lemke, 95, Fargo, ND died on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Eventide Fargo on 32nd Ave.

Muriel Helen Kiehl was born on July 4, 1923 to Emil and Laura (Glawe) Kiehl in Lake View Township, Detroit Lakes, MN. Muriel was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes.  As a child the family moved to Westbury, MN where Muriel attended school at District 44, a one room school house, through the eighth grade. She attended high school in Detroit Lakes by walking to Westbury and then rode a bus to Detroit Lakes. After completing high school she attended New York Hairdressing Academy of Fargo, graduating in June of 1941.  Muriel worked in Fargo and also at McCord Air Force Base, Washington.  Muriel Married Albert Lemke in 1944 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fargo, ND.

Muriel is survived by her five children: Jeanette Hood, of Fargo, ND, Glenn (Diane) Lemke, of Leonard, ND, Denise (Dan) Montgomery, of Wykoff, MN, Corrine (Joe) Polipnick, of Fargo, ND, and Ron (Sandy) Lemke, of Argusville, ND; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, sister Lorraine (Lowell) Erickson, of Park Rapids, MN along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Muriel was preceded in death by her husband Albert, parents, baby sister Ione, grandson Brett and son-in-law John Hood.

The family would like to thank the staff of Eventide Fargo on 32nd Ave. for their amazing care they gave to their mom.

Memorial service: Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Harwood, ND with visitation one hour prior. 

Burial: Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery North, Fargo, ND.
