Michael C. Byrne

Michael "Mike" Byrne, 66, West Fargo, ND died on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Eventide in Moorhead.

Michael Charles Byrne was born August 2, 1952, at St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead, MN, to Clarence and Joanne Byrne. Mike attended schools in West Fargo, graduating from West Fargo High in 1970.  He then attended Minot State College for a short time before first becoming ill.  Mike worked for the West Fargo Street Department for thirty-plus years, until continuing illness forced his retirement.

Mike has always been interested in sports:  playing, coaching, attending events and watching on TV.  He was always there to buy a raffle ticket or make a donation to anyone who asked.  Mike enjoyed his drives and walks around town,  stopping by for a lunch, cookie or lollipop along the way and then a stop at “The Hall” for a cranberry.  Mike will be missed by his many friends.

Mike is survived by his sisters:  Barb Byrne and Kathy Byrne of West Fargo and Deb Peterson of Colorado Spring, CO;  brothers:  Rob, Curt and Denny of West Fargo;  niece:  Lyndsay (Ben) Peterson;  nephews:  Jason (Kesha) Byrne,  Adam (Carlin) Byrne and Justin (Dawna) Peterson;  great-nieces:  Hannah & Elanora;  great-nephews:  Brennan, Hayden, Oakley and Dakota; many cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother:  Ron.

Funeral:  11 a.m.  Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo,

Visitation:  an hour prior to the service

Burial:  Holy Cross Cemetery – North, Fargo.

In lieu of floral arrangements, donations in Mike’s name

are urged to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
