Maxine Bjerkebeck

Maxine (Hiltwein) Bjerkebeck, age 77, of Casselton, ND, died Monday, November 18, 2019 at Essentia Health, Fargo

Maxine Marie “Micky” Hiltwein was born July 5, 1942 to Frank and Gertrude (Costello) Hiltwein at Fargo, ND.   Her father always said she came in with a bang!  She grew up and attended school at Casselton and had attended church at St. Leo’s Catholic Church.  As a young girl Micky enjoyed ice skating.    She had worked at English’s, Stomple Café, and at Crystal Sugar.   In 1967, Micky had one daughter Rhonda.   In 1972, she married Lawrence Bjerkebeck, and three additional children were born to them. One of the activities they enjoyed doing together was hauling scrap iron.   Lawrence died June 24, 2006.    

Maxine is remembered as a good mother that enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives, listening to Elvis, drinking Pepsi, eating Chocolate, riding her bike around Casselton, and playing with her cats and dogs.   But mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family, and she always put them first.

She is survived by four children, Rhonda Hiltwein, Casselton; Larry (Jennifer) Bjerkebeck, West Fargo; Tammy (Kelly Dietz) Bjerkebeck and June Bjerkebeck, both of Fargo; 8 grandchildren: Derek, Austin, Meagan, Ethan, Alan, Lucas, Tanya and Hope; and two great-grandchildren, Ashton & Paytyn.  

In Eternal Life, Micky joined her parents, four siblings, her husband Lawrence, and a great-granddaughter Jewel.

Memorial Service:   11 AM Monday, November 25, 2019 at Bethel Church, Fargo, with Visitation held one hour prior to her service.

Final Resting Place:   St. Leo's Catholic Cemetery, Casselton, at a later date.
