Mary Theurer

Mary Theurer, 74, of Casselton, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Eventide, Fargo.

Mary was born March 23, 1944 to Leo P. and Kathryn (Murphy) Friesz in Dickinson, ND.  At the age of 4, the family moved to Mandan, ND, where Mary attended school at St. Joseph's.  She was employed at the hospital in Mandan prior to her marriage to Elden Theurer on December 5, 1962, in Mandan. The couple moved to Casselton in 1968, where they made their home through the years.  Elden passed away July 18, 2016. 

Mary will be fondly remembered for her contagious smile, laugh and devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren and siblings.  She placed all others above herself.  Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was a remarkable cook, preparing all of the German favorites and also gardening each year.  Her favorite television shows were America's Got Talent,  Wheel of Fortune and the Hallmark Channel, also doing puzzle books,  watching and feeding squirrels in her yard.

Mary is survived by daughters: Ronda (Ron) Jarisch, of West Fargo, Delinda (Tyrone) Knutson and Brenda Kron, both of Fargo, ND and Melinda (Loren) Orke, of Casselton, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother:  Joe (Renee) Friesz of Mandan; sister:  Ruthie (Darby) Fisher of Mandan;  special friends:  Ethel Dewan,  Brenda Corcoran and Cody Holt all of Casselton.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  husband;  a brother:  Tom Friesz and a sister Frances Lundstrom.

Memorial Service:  2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at   Martin’s Lutheran Church, Casselton, ND.

Visitation:  5 to 7pm  Monday, July 30, 2018, West Funeral Home, Casselton

Prayer Service:  7 p.m.  Monday at the funeral home

Burial:  North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND at a later date.
