Margaret C. “Peggy” Moen, 88, Hunter, ND passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Bethany on University in Fargo, ND.
Peggy was born January 3, 1930 to Lloyd and Margaret Johnson in Sioux City, Iowa. They lived in Sioux City, IA, New Rockford and Mayville, ND before moving to Hunter, ND. Peggy graduated from Hunter High School in May of 1947 and enrolled in the first nursing class at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. She married Ted B. Moen on November 20, 1948. They lived in Hunter and then moved to the farm north of Hunter in 1956. The couple raised 5 boys and one daughter. Peggy worked retail in Mayville and Nelson’s Super Value in Hunter. After retiring, she sold Avon products for 10 years.
Peggy attended as many sport and school activities as possible of her children and grandchildren. Family and church were important to her. She was a ruling elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Hunter and a longtime member of the Presbyterian Women. In 2017, she moved from Hunter to the Good Samaritan Center in Arthur and in 2018 to Bethany on University in Fargo.
Peggy is survived by 4 boys, Murray of Fargo, Brad (Marsha) of Valley City, ND, Randall (Colleen) of Hunter and Barry of Hunter; 8 grandchildren: Travis (Helen) Moen of Hortonville, WI, Brandon (fiancé Nikki Buringrud) Moen of Valley City, ND, Ashley (Adam) Gehlhar of Jamestown, ND, Casey (Kristin) Moen of West Fargo, Dustin Moen of Hunter, Joey Moen of Fargo, Brent (Megan) Moen of Glyndon, MN, Bryce (Heidi) Moen of Frazee, MN; 15 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in law: Deane and Betty Moen of Arthur.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Margaret; husband, Ted; daughter, Jan; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Opal Moen; and 2 grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday, July 6, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 at First Presbyterian Church in Hunter.
Funeral: Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Hunter.
Burial: Hunter Cemetery.
