Margaret A. Colby

Margaret Ann (Flick) Colby, 88, of West Fargo, ND, passed away Saturday, December 29 at Kinder-Care in West Fargo.   Her husband of seventy-one years Francis E. had just recently passed on November 21.  

Margaret was born in Cooperstown, ND, on June 29, 1930 to Perl and Sigrid Flick, the second of six children.  The Flick family moved to West Fargo about 1939, where all six attended the local schools.   Following high school Marg married Francis Colby, also of West Fargo, in 1947.  Seventy-one years of marriage followed with two children - Steven of West Fargo and Connie Supman (Mark) of Scottsdale, Arizona.  There are also six grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.  

Marg worked for Gate City Savings for several years in Fargo before following her husband to Mayville where she became a legal assistant for the Kaldor, Vinjie and Engleman Law Firm in Mayville.  Francis taught at the local college for many years in the field of music. Following their retirement in 1992 Marg and Fran returned to Fargo.

Marg was predeceased by her husband, parents, her older sister Dolores in 1948, brother Roger in 1996 and brother Duane in 2015.  A sister Joyce lives in San Angelo, Texas, and her brother David (Lynette) lives in Lake Park, Minnesota.  

Funeral arrangements are being handled by West Funeral Home of West Fargo.  A private service is planned for family and friends.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
