Lucille “Lucy” Fenske, age 82, of Mayville, ND, formerly Hunter, ND, died Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Luther Memorial Home, Mayville.
Lucille Teena Hansen was born August 13, 1936, at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo, one of twin daughters born to Fred and Elna (Hanson) Hansen. She grew up at Hunter, and graduated from high school there. Lucy was united in marriage to Elwood Fenske at First Presbyterian Church on October 26, 1958. They first lived at Gardner, ND, and then moved back to Hunter. Lucille had worked as a waitress at the Corner Café and Hunter Café, working well into her 70’s. She entered the Arthur Good Samaritan Center, and later moved to Luther Memorial Home in Mayville.
Lucy was a faithful church attender and member of First Presbyterian church and Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of the TOPS Club at Hunter for many years. She did embroidering and loved to shop. Lucy loved her grandchildren and her sons.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff (Sondra), Moorhead, MN, Kyle (Kori), Hunter; 5 grandchildren: Bryce (Monica) Fenske, Tessa (Jeremy) Stroehl, Kalli (Brandon) Egan, Jenna (Max Sinclair) Fenske, Lindsey Fenske-Goodman; 7 great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Annetta Hansen.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband Elwood in 1998, her parents, two brothers Dean and Frederick, and her twin sister Lorraine.
VISITATION: 5pm - 7pm Wednesday, February 27th, with a Prayer Service held at 7pm, all in First Presbyterian Church, Hunter.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30am Thursday, February 28, 2019 in First Presbyterian Church
