Lester Samuel Hazer. 105, of West Fargo, ND died Sunday, May 6, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.
Lester was born June 4, 1912, in a sod house on the farm in rural Woodworth, ND, to Henry and Rena (French) Hazer. On August 24, 1936, he was united in marriage to Rose Angelica Guizzetti. Lester was a farmer for 41 years until he moved to West Fargo and founded Hazer’s Auto Wrecking in 1969 where he worked until his 100th birthday.
When he wasn’t working, Lester liked to dance with his friend Ann Hess, play cards and enjoy life. He worked hard and played hard.
Lester is survived by sisters: Goldie Melhoff and Daisy Brooks both of Jamestown, ND; son: Duane Hazer of West Fargo; three daughters: Lillian (John) Pike of Beloit, WI, Glenda Meuchel and Debora (David) Overboe all of Kindred, ND, daughter in-law, Debbie Hazer of West Fargo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 years, Rose; brother: Gilman Hazer, a son: Ronald Hazer; a daughter: Elaine Dahl.
The family would appreciate memorials be sent to Liberty Lutheran Brethren Church in Fargo. Many thanks to Hospice of the Red River Valley and Active At Home Helpers. He was well cared for by all.
Visitation: Friday, May 11, 2018 from 5 to 7 pm at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo with a 6:30 pm prayer service.
Funeral: Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Liberty Lutheran Brethren Church in Fargo.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND at 2 p.m.
