Kenneth Tangen

Kenneth Tangen, 90, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo.

Kenneth Orvis Tangen was born on August 20, 1927 at Lisbon, ND to Ole and Marie Ann (Mothberg) Tangen.  Kenneth attended rural school and was very proud of earning his GED in June of 1987.

On April 7, 1951, Ken married Dorothy Discher.  They were married for sixty-three years until her death December 4, 2014. Ken worked as a mechanic for thirty years at various implement shops. He retired from Friendship, Inc, where he was the maintenance man for six years. Ken served as the Fire Chief of the Leonard volunteer fire department, and was a member and board member of Bethel Moravian Church at Leonard.  In his younger years he enjoyed golfing and fishing.

He is survived by a son:  Alan (Pam), Fargo; two daughters, Linda (Kent) Korf, Sanborn, ND, Shirley (Terry) Nerby, Fargo; daughter-in-law: Terri Tangen, Thief River Falls, MN; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Dorothy; son: Brian; sisters: Inga Bunn, Myrtle Caputo and Josie Rotenberger and a brother: Clarence.

Visitation:  5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at West Funeral Home Chapel, Casselton.

Funeral Service:  10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at Bethel Moravian Church, Leonard, ND

Interment: Bethel Moravian Cemetery, Leonard, ND
