Kathy Hettenbaugh

Kathy Marie Hettenbaugh, 56, passed away June 20, 2018 from injuries suffered in a bicycle accident.

Kathy was born March 4, 1962 to Kenneth and Verna Vaage in Stanley, ND. She was a graduate of Stanley High School and NDSU, Fargo. She earned a teaching degree from MSUM, Moorhead.  Kathy began her career with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in 1990 and continued working there until her death.  She married Bruce Hettenbaugh on July 26, 1986.

Some of her favorite activities were fishing, spending time in the garden and playing softball. She also truly enjoyed watching the boys’ sporting events and activities.

Kathy is survived by her husband Bruce, Fargo; son Brett, Moorhead; step-son Kyle (Anna) and their children Drew and Luke Hettenbaugh, West Fargo; brothers Bruce Vaage, Grand Forks; Greg Vaage, Minot; Jim (Marla) Vaage, Priest River, ID; and several nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Verna Vaage and her brother Brian Vaage.

Funeral: Monday, June 25, 2018 at 1 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11 AM at Fairview Cemetery, Stanley, ND.
