Jodie Brend

Jodie Jane (Rheault) Brend, age 49, of Apple Valley MN, passed away on May 13, 2019 at Sanford Health in Fargo. She was born on December 11, 1969 to Jim and Doris (Mueller) Rheault.  Jodie graduated from West Fargo High School in 1988.  She attended NDSU graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counseling and Guidance.  In addition, she is a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).     

Jodie married Darian Brend of Fargo on June 19, 1993, at West Fargo.  In 1996 they moved to Eagan MN and in 1997 moved to Apple Valley MN.  There they raised two sons, Dylan (21), a junior at the University of St. Thomas and Jacob (17), a senior at Eastview High School.  She began her career at People Incorporated in 1996 where she ascended to the position of Vice President of Operations.  Jodie was an active member in the community serving on the Eastview Community Foundation as well as several work-related outreach projects.

Jodie loved attending her sons’ events, which included baseball, hockey and band performances. She also enjoyed reading, craft shows and social events. Traveling was a big part of her life as well.  Some of her favorite places to travel with her family were New York, Hawaii and Arizona.

Jodie is survived by her husband Darian, sons Dylan and Jacob, parents Jim and Doris Rheault and brother Jeff Rheault.  She is also survived by her brother & sister-in-law Shannon and Tammy Brend, and mother-in-law Barb Brend.  Jodie was preceded in death by grandparents Albert and Nora Mueller, Adrian and Jean Rheault, and by her father-in-law Don Brend and niece Emma Brend.

Memorial Service:  11AM Friday, May 17, 2019 in Hope Lutheran Church – South Campus, Fargo, with Visitation held one hour prior to her service.

A second service will be held 11AM Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church,  Apple Valley, MN.

Placement will be at Shepherd of the Valley Columbarium.
