Jo Anne Erdmann, 86, Casselton, ND died on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 at Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND with the loving care of Hospice of the RRV.
Jo Anne C. Wicklund was born May 21, 1933 in Duluth, MN to Ed and Helen (Johnson) Wicklund. She attended school in Duluth. Jo Anne married Norman Erdmann on June 6, 1951 in Duluth. They lived on the Erdmann farm near Durbin, ND for a year before living in West Fargo, ND. They returned to Duluth, followed by Hibbing, MN and in 1957, they moved to Santa Ana, CA. In 1970, they moved to Casselton. Norman and Jo Anne owned a painting and decorating business for many years.
Jo Anne was a member of the Martin’s Lutheran Church where she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday school. She so enjoyed singing and passed that talent on to her children. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Casselton Red Hats.
Jo Anne was a fun loving person who loved to tell jokes especially the Ole and Lena ones which she shared with an accent. Every Christmas for many years, she brought cheer to the DWAC employees when she came as Mrs. Claus for the Christmas Program.
She is survived by children, Gerald (Sylvia) of Fargo, Nancy (Randi) of West Fargo, Daryl (Tammy) of West Fargo; daughter-in-law, Nancy Jo of Leonard, ND; guardianship daughter, Barb Jahnke; grandchildren, Deana (Brian) Seikman, Sarah (Chris) Walberg, Shawn (Danielle) Erdmann, Nick Erdmann, Darcee Erdmann, Mark (Teresa) Saunders, Chris (Stephanie) Saunders, Paul (Hannah) Erdmann, Amanda Erdmann and Daryl Jr (Kaitlin) Erdmann; great grandchildren, Maddy & Leo Seikman, Micah, Lucy, Stella, Ivy and Everly Walberg, Shayla, Calisa and Lewyin Erdmann, Becca, Tayler and Megan Saunders, Britney and Austin Ventsch, Leila and Juniper Erdmann.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Michael and Albert; and three sisters, Clara, Alice and Virginia.
Visitation: Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Martin’s Lutheran Church, Casselton.
Funeral: Friday, Jan. 10 at 10:30 AM at Martin’s Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Casselton Cemetery.
