Jean Larson

Jean Larson (Olson) passed away, after a long battle with cancer in Fargo, ND on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the age of 65 with her family at her side.

Jean was born on October 22, 1951 in Fargo, ND. She graduated from Fargo North High School. Jean married Jim Forsman in 1970 and welcomed their daughter Tina Hangsleben (Forsman). In 1980, Jean married Earl Larson Jr. and their family included Earl’s sons, John and Duane. After years working in the service industry, she joined Elim Nursing home as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Jean spent most of her summers with her grandsons at Strawberry Lake enjoying fishing, swimming and boating. She delighted in the various Christian services and activities hosted at the resort along with her many friends. Jean enjoyed travelling to many locations including several FBI conventions, a train trip to Oregon, Disneyworld, touring New England, a recent trip to Israel and her one of her favorite places: Monticello to visit with her daughter and family. Jean’s hobbies included quilting, embroidering and attending her grandsons’ sporting events.

Jean is survived by her husband, Earl “Junior” Larson, Gardner, ND; daughter, Tina (Gary) Hangsleben, Monticello, MN; four grandsons: Connor, Minneapolis, MN; Carter, August and Jacob Hangsleben, Monticello, MN; five siblings: Joanne (Duane) Wetch, Tower City, ND; Dale (Grace) Olson, Fargo, ND; Jeanette (Gordon) Wetch, Fargo, ND; Debbie (Jim) Tarvestad, Hunter, ND and Rhonda (Wayne) Nelson, Tower City, ND; step-sons, John Larson and Duane (Christie)Larson all in Colorado; step-grandsons,  Devin Larson, Warren and Jared Niranjo.

 Jean is preceded in death by her parents Richard E. and Norma Olson (Malard); a brother who died at birth and husband, James Forsman all from Fargo.

Visitation:  3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2017, followed by a 4:30 p.m. Prayer Service at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo

Celebration of Life: 10:30 a.m., Monday September 18, 2017, at First Assembly of God Church in Fargo with a luncheon to follow.  Visitation an hour prior.

Burial:  Greenwood Cemetery at Tower City, ND
