Helen L. Cook, age 70, Fargo, ND, passed away on May 12, 2019 at home following her courageous battle with cancer.
Helen Louise Carlson Cook was born on August 30, 1948 in Fargo to Almer and Lillian Carlson. In 1949 her family moved to a farmstead near Clifford, ND. She graduated from Clifford-Galesburg High School, attended Dakota Business College in Fargo and moved to California in 1968.
On April 22, 1969, she married her beloved husband, Dino Cook, in Woodland, CA. They returned to North Dakota to reside in 1973, establishing their roots in West Fargo in 1978. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #93 in Portland, ND and lifetime member in the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #7564 in West Fargo. They opened their business, Dino’s Repair, in West Fargo in 1984. Prior to that Helen worked at area dealerships including Russ Buick, Russ Honda, and Tim Corwin Buick. Helen and Dino enjoyed fishing together and competed in several area fishing tournaments over the years.
She is survived by her husband, Dino; daughter Tina Barnum, Plymouth, MN; three granddaughters, Brittany, Hailey and Sabrina; sister Karen (Ken) Halldorson, Bismarck, ND; brother Gene (Sandy) Carlson, Snohomish, WA; brother Gordon (Eileen) Carlson, Fargo, ND; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dominic Cook, and sister Diane Smith.

Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2019, at Faith and Journey Lutheran Church in West Fargo.
Visitation 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. Prayer Service, Thursday 5/16, in the church. Visitation on Friday an hour prior to the funeral.
