Gordon "Gordy" Saunier

Gordon K. Saunier, 62, of Perham, MN, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Sanford Hospital on Broadway in Fargo, ND.

Gordon Keith Saunier was born March 1, 1955, in St. Paul, MN, the son of Robert C. and Virginia (Mauritz) Saunier.  He was raised in Oakdale, MN where he was educated and graduated from Tartan High School.  Gordon attended St. Paul Tech, Winona State and St. Catherine Colleges. He spent most of his adult life in Brooklyn Park, MN.  Gordy was employed at Spicer (Dana) Corporation for twenty five years. He also worked as a firefighter and machinist before returning to college to become a MRI Tech.  Gordy was then employed for a time in Devils Lake, ND,  Michigan, and Minnesota.  Lastly he was employed by Summit Orthopedics in St. Paul. 

He was once married to Janet Douglas.  Gordy and Renee Gilderhus were married September 24, 2016.  The couple had recently purchased property near Perham, MN to enjoy retirement by the lake.  Gordy was a very avid fisherman. 

Gordy also enjoyed hunting, cooking and spending time with his precious grandchildren.  He was also very active in the Boy Scouts.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife:  Renee;  sons:  Michael (Melissa) Saunier,  Peter (Naomi) Saunier and Jonathan (Nikki) Saunier;  step-son:  Preston Gilderhus; grandchildren:  Taylor Sloat,  Spencer Saunier,  Chase Saunier and Landon Saunier;  sister-in-law:  Cathy Saunier,  nieces:  Shari, Jennifer and a nephew: Jamie; Renee’s brothers and sisters: Palmer (Polly) Odden, Jr.,  Donald “Don” (Dawn) Odden,  Roger (Sandy) Odden,  Sharon (Roger) Narveson,  Jerry Odden,  Kenneth (Rose) Odden,  Bradley Odden,  Patty (Les) Cray,  Curtis (Karla Christopherson) Odden,  Rick (Carrie) Odden,  Danny (Cindy) Odden,  Debra (John) Thrasher,  Holly (Tom Tevik) Lysne and Paul Odden; many nieces and nephews including  special niece:  Lisa Narveson.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  sister:  Roseanne Saunier;  brother:  Robert Saunier; a nephew:  David Saunier and nephew-in-law:  Brett Matzdorf.

Memorial Service:  Noon, Sunday, September 17, 2017, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo.
