Frank Palm, 70, peacefully passed away June 10th, surrounded at home by his immediate family in Frontier, ND.
Frank was born April 21st, 1948 in Fargo, the sixth of seven children of Frank and Hermine (Weidel) Palm. After spending a portion of his childhood up in Grand Forks, where he became a lifelong UND Fighting Sioux fan, the family eventually moved back to Fargo where he graduated from Central High School in 1967. His first son Scott, was born in 1972 from his first marriage. In 1977, he married Ann Kuznia and they had three boys; Nathan, Philip, and Timothy. Frank spent most of his life in drywall and construction, where he was able to build his family four houses, including the last one in which he still resided. His lifelong passion has always been in building and constructing things with wood: from houses, canoes, wood turnings, boxes, to multiple rocking horses and such for his grandchildren. Frank and Ann loved to travel to visit their son and grandchildren in Montana, and were also able to go on some longer trips to Alaska and Mexico. Then they settled into relaxing in their little cabin in Minnesota. He enjoyed just sitting around the bonfire with family and watching the peaceful lake.
He is survived by his wife Ann, his children; Scott (Jenn), Nathan, Philip (Ginger), and Timothy (Alicia), and his older brother Don (Arlene), and sister Tootie (Ron) Wical. And six grandkids: Zeena, Marley (Andy) Strand, Jaxon, Melaena, Levi and Lucy.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Hermine, and his brothers Kent, Paul, Dave, and Al.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Hospice of Red River Valley for all of their care and compassion. And also a very special and heartfelt thank you to Timothy’s wife, Alicia, for so selflessly giving of herself and her skills in nursing in taking care of her father-in-law during his journey at the end of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Red River Valley, or the Wounded Warriors Project.
Visitation 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by a 10 a.m. Memorial Service Friday, June 15, 2018, at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo.
