Elinor Wical

Elinor “Tootie” Wical, age 73, of Fargo, ND, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at her home under the care of her family and Hospice.  Elinor was born April 12, 1946 in Fargo, the fifth of seven children of Frank and Hermine (Weidel) Palm.  She grew up in Grand Forks, ND and attended Grand Forks Central High School until 1962, when the family moved to Fargo.   She graduated from Fargo Central in the spring of 1964.   On October 1, 1965 she married Ronald Wical, of Fargo at Calvary Baptist Church, and they later had two boys; Brent and Patrick. 

Elinor went back to school at NDSU and graduated with a degree in Business in 1988. She then worked as an office manager at First Lutheran Church in Fargo until 1997 when they moved to Plymouth, MN.  She and Ron really enjoyed exploring the new areas and getting to know the city.  In 2002, they moved back to Fargo and Elinor worked for Park Christian School for 10 years before retiring in 2012.   She enjoyed living at their lake cabin on Pelican Lake for 10 years before moving back to Fargo in 2017.  Elinor enjoyed spending time reading, cross stitching, and having bonfires at the lake with family and friends.  She took great joy in watching her grandchildren at any of their events and attending as many as possible.    

She is survived by her husband Ron, her son Brent (Jodi) Wical, 5 grandchildren Aaron, Brynn (Pat), Madison, Regan and Grant (Brent), and by her brother Don Palm. 

Elinor was preceded in death by her son Pat, her parents Frank and Hermine, and her brothers Kent, Paul, Dave, Al and Frank.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Hospice of Red River Valley for all of their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Park Christian School. 

Visitation will be held 10am – 11am Friday, May 24, 2019, with her Memorial Service held at 11am, all in West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center, West Fargo, ND.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
