Drew Robert Leraas, 25, Fargo, ND died on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Essentia Health, Fargo.

Drew Robert Leraas was born Aug. 4, 1993 in Fargo to Andrea Schroeder and Robert Leraas. Drew has been a fighter since his birth when he fought his way into this world. He attended Fargo Public Schools starting at Longfellow Elementary and graduating from Davies High School in the special education program. He enjoyed riding the bus and had many good friends in the program. He was a great communicator expressing himself in nonverbal ways. Drew had a way of letting his needs be known. His smile, frown, or feisty behavior said it all. He did not like to be ignored and he lit up when he had your attention. He had a great sense of Humor, a love for music, and his “shaker toys.”

Drew was a fighter and battled his many illnesses with much strength. He surprised and often bewildered the medical community. He had a contagious laugh and smile and taught the family so much in his 25 years. Special thanks to Drew’s many caregivers who played such a vital role in his life and became part of his extended family.

He is survived by his mother, Andrea (Jay) Hoiland; brother, Ryan Hoiland; grandmother, Linda Schroeder and her late husband, Robert; aunt, Kelly (Keith) Johnson; and uncle, Rob Schroeder (Kristi Hudson); cousins, Dylan and Lindsey Johnson and Kasey Rose and Tyler Schroeder; along with Drew’s father, Robert Leraas and the rest of the Leraas family.

Celebration Service: Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11 AM at the Arthur (ND) Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior.
