My sincere condolences to the Muhs family. Donald touched many lives, especially the young who looked to him for guidance which he gave lovingly. As the family reflects on his life, may you be comforted by the words of Isaiah 41:3,4 as you face the future.

Aunt Millie and all the family,
My heartfelt condolences go out to you all. I'll always remember Uncle Don, the times I got to visit with you during the summers when I was young and the fun that I had. I just wish it could have been more often. God bless you and all the best. John

Millie, Barb, Tammy and the entire Muhs family,

So sorry to read about Don's passing. I will always remember him on Lake Melissa as a kind, welcoming, and delightful gentleman.. Even though it has been a number of years since I last saw Don, I am glad for the time I was able to be around the Muhs family. Tell as many stories about Don as you can, whenever you can, it helps to keep his spirit present with you.
Sincerely,
Steve Conlin

A few years ago I came across a song, Voices, by the country singer, Chris Young. In it, the singer speaks about the different people who had impacted his life through their words and actions that he still hears and sees in his mind. The song stuck with me because that's been my experience in life too: that at different times, I'll hear the voices of people who've influenced my life, challenging me to do better, to be better. I consider myself lucky to have grown up in Argusville in the 70's. I consider myself doubly lucky to have been influenced and challenged to be better by Don Muhs wearing different hats as a teacher, a coach, a person, and the father of a life-long friend. There are too many stories and experiences to recount, but when it comes to voices, at different times, when the situation warrants it, a memory of Mr. Muhs gets replayed in my head. I'll always remember the Don Muhs of my twenties: the warm smile, the firm, welcoming handshake and the genuine "how's it going young fella" greeting. Life is rich and we were/are blessed.

I met Don as a first year principal at Sheldon and our acquaintance grew four years later when I began my career as a superintendent at Leonard. I always knew that he would be happy to take a phone call from me if I needed advice or someone to talk with. My last year in Leonard, spring of 1989, we worked together to "jump through the hoops" to allow our high school baseball teams to play in the Metrodome on a Sunday afternoon following a Twins game. Always welcoming, supportive and a trusted friend to a "rookie" superintendent, I will always remember Don with high esteem. My thoughts and prayers are with you, his family, as you celebrate his life.

As a proud CVN alum, I saw and experienced first hand Mr. Muhs' friendly smile, caring heart and steady, consistent patience. Even with my rather difficult brother, I witnessed such compassion from this man. I hope you all know what a difference he made in so many students lives. I remember getting a pep talk from him even as our girls bb team was striving for our first win after a very long run of losses. His job was very difficult and yet he always came to school with a smile and welcoming face. Peace to you all in this time of loss.
