Donald Dietz

Don Dietz, 64, of West Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Liberty Middle School in West Fargo, the result of a sudden health event.

Donald Ray Dietz was born April 13, 1954, at Beach, ND, the son of Richard and Henrietta (Becker) Dietz.  He grew up on the family farm south of Sentinel Butte, ND, attended country school, and high school at Beach, where he graduated in 1973. 

On July 2, 1973, Don was united in marriage to Cheri Jenrich at Sentinel Butte.  They lived in Baker, MT and Sentinel Butte before moving to West Fargo, ND in 1986.  They later moved to Christine, ND, for several years before moving to Fargo.   Cheri died Sept 23, 2014, and Don had since moved back to West Fargo.

Don had worked at Sunmart for many years as a meat cutter.  He then became a custodian with West Fargo Public Schools and had been at Liberty Middle School for several years.

He is survived by his son Ronald (Jenni) of Monroe, North Carolina; his father Richard Dietz of Beach; five siblings, Patricia “Pat” Dietz of Beach, Tom of Boise, Idaho, Betty Jo (Duane) Kokinda, of Port Clinton, Ohio, Jerry (Patsy) of Denver, Colorado, and Randy (Debbie) of Beach; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Cheri, and his mother Henrietta.

In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorials to the Donald Dietz Memorial Fund at Liberty Middle School.

Visitation:   3:30PM – 7PM Friday, November 2, 2018, at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Funeral:  7PM Friday in West Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial:  Saturday 2PM (MST) at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, Sentinel Butte.
