David Domier,73, Harwood ND, passed away peacefully at Touchmark under hospice care Sunday, November 19th 2017.

David Allan Domier was born July 30th 1944 to Alvin and Mildred (Brend) Domier in Mayville, North Dakota. He went to elementary school at Morgan #3 and attended Mayville High school. He grew up on a farm north of Mayville where he spent his free time tending to his horses and hunting with his family. He was in the National Guard and was involved with the Harwood Legion Post 297 for over 30 years as a Commander and Financial Officer.

He was a truck driver and enjoyed the freedom the open road had to offer.  In high school, David started a band, The Sabers, with some of his family. Later he was a member of the Country Playboys and continued to play with his brother, Dennis, in the band, Sundown, up until this past summer. He was passionate about music and found solitude in the oldies. He attended a number of “The day that music died” shows which gave him true joy. Even though music was his passion, his family always came first.

He married Janice Staupe July 5th 1963 and was blessed with 3 daughters Dawn, Angie, and Kriss. He later married Colleen Mahoney June 27th 1987 and was blessed with 1 son, Ryan. He loved countless things like spending time on the lake, attending old car shows, or just being outside but he only loved these things because he was with his family.

Nothing mattered more to him than his family and friends. Although he was stubborn, he had a gentle and compassionate heart. He was also the most fun guy in the room and his laugh was contagious. He was loved by many. His strength was admirable and even through his toughest days, he still carried on.

He may be gone, but the foot prints he left in everyone’s heart will live on forever. He will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his children: Dawn (Mark) Schaffer Horace, ND, Angie (Ross) Puhr, Kriss Domier both from West Fargo, ND, Ryan Domier (Dacey Lopez) Mayville, ND, his grandchildren: Andrew Stubstad, Colton, Dawson, Ethan Schaffer, Brianna and Hunter Puhr, and Jada Resler, his great grandchildren: Halo, Kingston, Ziggy Bucholz, his sisters: Elaine Viken, Geneva (Mike) Knudson, both from Mayville, ND, sister in law, Carol Domier Portland, ND, brother, Dennis (Paulette) Domier Harwood, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Wayne Domier and Ione Thuen, nephews: Bob and Mark Thuen, and niece, Debbie Kyllo.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017, followed by 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service at West Funeral Home in West Fargo.

Funeral:  2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Harwood.
