Cleo W. Natvig, 97, Casselton, ND died on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Cleo Wilhelmina Christiansen was born Jan. 1, 1922 in Harmony Township near Casselton, ND to Chris and Martha (Lehrke) Christiansen. She graduated from high school in Casselton and married Gilhart Natvig on Nov. 26, 1941 in Long Beach, CA. Following his discharge from the US Navy, they made their home in the Casselton area. Cleo worked for many years at the George Howe Farm as a housekeeper and cook. Gil died March 21, 1998. She lived in Casselton before moving to Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo in 2015.
Cleo enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. At Martin’s Church, she was active in the choir, women’s circles and quilting group. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliaries. Cleo and Gil enjoyed traveling - making it to nearly all the states in the United States. While on the farm, they had a cat named Susie and a Siberian husky dog named, Loki.
She is survived by a son, William (Linda Gaughan) Natvig of West Fargo, ND and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Gil; son, Kenneth; four brothers, Clayton, Walter, Glenn and Kent; and a sister, Marie.
Memorials maybe given directly to a charity of your choice.
Funeral: Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 2 PM at Martin’s Lutheran Church, Casselton with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Casselton Cemetery.
