Bob Brungardt

Robert (Bob) Leo Brungardt of West Fargo ND passed away Thursday, September 28th at the age of 79.

Bob was born in St. Peter, Kansas on August 23, 1938 to Edward and Catherine (Wassinger) Brungardt.  After high school, Bob served three years in the army then settling in Denver CO after his discharge.  Bob met and married the love of his life Carol (Reinan) Brungardt. Together they raised two sons Jeff (Errin) and Chris (Lisa).  Bob has five grandchildren who are the apple of his eye.  Kara (Tom) Schneider, Bobby (Lu) Brungardt, Elaina (Jake) Fronden, Isaac Hintsala and Max Brungardt.
 

For most of his adult life, Bob worked as a building inspector with the city of Wahpeton ND, before starting his own inspection business.
 

Bob loved his family, and his friends.  He cared for all his family as he would his own children, and treated his friends like family.  He loved to entertain; whether it was just immediate family at the lake, or for 50+ at Thanksgiving.  Bob showed his love through cooking and woodworking. He was well known for making furniture and keepsakes that many fortunate people have been blessed to receive.  Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was in fact making plans for fishing just days before he passed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Marvin, Virgil, Loraine, Hubert, Harold and Larry, and by sisters Mary, Jane, Marilyn, brothers in law Jerry and Mert. He is survived by his wife Carol, his sons, daughters, grandchildren, brothers Tim, Ed, and Ken (Kathy), sisters Carolyn (Lynn), Linda (Floyd), sisters in law Ginny, Marge, Sharon, Darla, Sharon, Joan and Linda (Roger) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

His gentle wisdom, laughter and sometimes gruff voice will be sorely missed.

Visitation: Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 5 -7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo followed by a prayer service at 7 PM.

Funeral: Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 11 AM at Lutheran Church of the Cross, West Fargo.
