Betty Ann (Hins) Werner

Betty Ann Werner, 68, West Fargo, ND passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Born May 13, 1949 in Jamestown ND, she grew up and attended school in Medina ND. Later attended college at NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND, where she received her LPN certificate. She married Calvin (Kelly) Bakken on July 10, 1970, from this union 3 children were born, Kristi, Chad and Karla. On September 29, 1990, she married Dale Werner. Throughout Betty’s life she worked in various nursing homes and hospitals in Jamestown, Hillsboro, Grand Forks and Fargo. She enjoyed working with the elderly in the nursing homes. She also enjoyed cleaning houses for various families over the years. After her retirement from nursing she drove school bus for the West Fargo School District. She loved those little kids and enjoyed it when they called her Grandma Betty and drew pictures for her.

Betty was passionate about many things, she enjoyed helping others in any way possible; cleaning, painting, sewing, babysitting, dog-sitting or anything else a friend or stranger might need. Betty loved her family very much and giving advice to her children or grandchildren at any time. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Surviving are Betty’s husband; Dale Werner, West Fargo, children; Kristi (Jeff) Skyberg, East Grand Forks, Chad (Lisa) Bakken, Wimbledon, Karla (Mike) Riley, Fargo, Dawn (Doug) Vanyo, Fargo, Diane (Dave) Dolan, West Fargo, Derek Werner (Jenny Perkins) Fargo. Grandchildren; Rylee & Macy Skyberg, Dylan & Kaitlyn Bakken, Noah Riley, Alexia Werner, Tyler & Shaina Dolan, Emma & Lauryn Vanyo, Peyton & Samuel Werner. Siblings; Jan (Bill) Mimnaugh, Breckenridge, Anthony Hins, Kindred, Jeff (Jean) Hins, Gilbert, AZ, Barb (Greg) Davis, Edina, MN.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Vernon and Leah Hins and her grandson Jacob N. Bakken. 

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, September 4, with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo.

Funeral: Tuesday, September 5, 2017 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, West Fargo

Burial:   At a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
