Betty Jean Sparks

Betty J. Sparks, 84, Fargo, ND died on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Betty Jean (West) Sparks was born on March 23, 1933 to Albert & Marjorie (Payton) West in Otterville MO and was raised on a farm near Garden City MO. She attended the area grade school and graduated from Garden City High School.  On February 22, 1953 Betty was united in marriage to Thomas Sparks in Blackwell OK.

Betty was employed at BMA Insurance, served as a church secretary at St. Andrew Lutheran Church then Red River Reformed Church in West Fargo.

Betty’s hobbies were her horses, cats and dogs.

Betty is survived by her husband Thomas, of Fargo, ND, children: Gary Rustin, of Mantorville, MN, and Thomas Sparks, Jr. of Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Brady Sparks, Jacob Sparks, Kailee Blessum, Kaitlin Sparks, Allison Sparks, Matthew Rustin, and Sara Watts; great-grandchildren: Orianna Watts, Brayden Watts, Evrin Watts, Ayden Blessum, Marlee Blessum, Cody Sparks, Lilith Rustin, and Deacon Rustin.  She is also survived by her sister Edna Tanton, of Garden City, MO.

Betty was preceded in death by her son Timothy Sparks.

Betty Loved Jesus; she is present with the Lord.

Memorial service: Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church; which is Tom & Betty’s home church, 1130 11th Street South, Fargo, ND with lunch following the service.
