Betty (Stearns) Nesemeier

Betty Lou Nesemeier, 85, of West Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo.

Betty Lou was born July 10, 1932, at Perham, MN the daughter of George A. and Thelma (Olstad) Stearns. Following graduation from Moorhead High School, Betty attended Moorhead State Teachers College until she was needed at home to care for her grandmother.  Betty later worked at Bell Telephone until her marriage to Mike Nesemeier on July 10, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead.  The couple lived and worked in West Fargo.  Betty worked for Armour’s for time and later at Faith Lutheran Church in West Fargo as church secretary, church education and assisted with weddings.  She then was employed as a member of the support staff at West Fargo Public Schools.

Betty dearly loved her family.  Mike built a family lake home on Lake Eunice where Betty and the family enjoyed many years of fun and relaxation.

Betty enjoyed all needle work, crocheting many items for family and friends,  floral gardening,  playing cards, making candy and baking, especially all of the Norwegian favorites.

Betty is survived by her  daughters:  Vickie (Scott) Meyer of Mapleton, ND and Darcy (Brad) Kranda of West Fargo;  grandchildren:  Carly (Tim) Hager,  Randall (Madalyn) Meyer,  Elizabeth (Zachary) Strand,  Thomas Meyer,  Ashley (Chris) Aslesen,  Rachel Kranda and Katie Kranda;  great-grandchildren:  Grace Hager,  Terrance Strand,  Mia Strand,  Ellie Mae Strand,  Henley Meyer,  Sawyer Meyer and due in April, Luke Aslesen;  several nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by parents; husband:  Mike, who passed away December 11, 2017;  daughter: Debra Nesemeier;  great-granddaughter:  Aubrey Strand and a brother:  George W. “Bill” Stearns.

Funeral:  10 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017,  Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo

Visitation:  an hour prior

Burial:  Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND
