Betty Marie (Schimming) Bartholomay

Betty Bartholomay, 92, of West Fargo ND passed away Tues Dec 11th 2018 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo ND.

Betty was born to Lillian & Theadore (Ted) Schimming on Wed Sept 9th 1926 at Alice ND and was raised near Enderlin, ND.  Betty married Theadore (Ted) Bartholomay June 16th 1945 in Moorhead MN.  In 1955 they moved to Mapleton ND where Ted and Betty worked for the Andrews Family until Ted passed in 1980. Betty helped care for Mary Andrews, then moved to Casselton to be closer to her grandson Kasey’s school activities and helped elderly families. Betty then moved to Fargo and lived with her grandson Todd for 15 years. While living in Fargo she worked at Trollwood Tots working with infants. In 2014 she moved in with her daughter Donna in West Fargo when her mobility started to declined.

Betty enjoyed helping her family in any way possible, and her top priority was Todd’s dog Bud keeping him out of trouble.  She enjoyed volunteering at Holy Cross Catholic Church with tying prayer blankets and helping with various needs.  When able she attended NDSU football games with her granddaughter Teresa. Betty enjoyed watching NASCAR with her grandchildren and learning about football and baseball from her favorite son-in-law.  She always enjoyed sitting in the sunroom watching the birds and the squirrels. Her favorite TV show was Wheel of Fortune.

Betty had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone when needed.

She is survived by a daughter and son, Donna (Leo) Blotsky of West Fargo and Larry (Debbie) Bartholomay of Fargo.  Grandchildren Todd Blotsky of West Fargo, Teresa Blotsky of Fargo, Great Granddaughter  Kendra Blotsky of Montana, Kasey (Lisa) Bartholomay, great grandchildren Brooks and Claire of Fargo. Sister Jean Kellerman of Enderlin, ND,  a brother Darrel (Shirley) Schimming of Embden, ND and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ted and brother-in-law Robert Kellerman

Funeral: Saturday, Dec 15th 2018 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2711 7th St. E West Fargo with visitation from 9 to 11.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo.
