Angie Fernandez

Angie Nicole Fernandez, 30, passed away on November 5, 2017 in her home in Dickinson, ND. Angie was born on November 19, 1986 in Sioux Falls, SD to Jerome Buckley and Lynette Schmitt. Angie grew up in Fargo, ND and graduated from Fargo South High School in 2005 where she was active in fastpitch softball and would eventually meet her future husband, Tyler.

Angie was married to Tyler Jacob Fernandez on August 6, 2011. Together, they made a home in West Fargo, ND, eventually moving to Dickinson, ND in 2015. Angie worked at both Essentia Health in Fargo and CHI St. Alexius Health in Dickinson as a Sterile Processing Technician, a job she loved.

Angie loved animals, and her pets were the most important things in her life. She would pinch her pennies, but gladly spoil her dogs and cat, or put money towards animal rescues. Angie was a fan of scary movies, traveling, spicy food, and music that was well before her time. Her sense of humor and sarcasm will be forever missed by all her friends and family.

Angie is survived by her husband, Tyler Fernandez of Dickinson, ND; her mother and stepfather, Lynette and Jim Schmitt of Fargo, ND; her in-laws, John and Deb Elsbernd of Denver, CO, and Monte and Shelly Fernandez of Sioux Falls, SD; stepsisters Kelli (Troy) Kester, Erin (Wade) Baertsch; her sisters-in-law, Ashley, Jess and Chloe; her brothers-in-law, Sam, Jake and Noah;grandparents Ervin Schmidt, Frances and Delmar Ruff, many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends who were like family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerome (Jerry) Buckley; her grandparents, Betty and Vincent Buckley, Richard and Janet Christensen;  Darlene Schmidt and her aunt, Delilah Scadden.

Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM Friday, November 10 at West Funeral Home in West Fargo, ND. Visitation will continue from at 9:30-10:30, followed by the funeral at 10:30 am, Saturday, November 11 at the funeral home.
