Allan Schober

Allan Schober, 80, Harwood, ND died on Wednesday Jan. 10, 2018 at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo ND.

Allan Wallace Schober was born on December 18, 1937 in Abercrombie, ND to William and Mabel (Kasch) Schober. He lived in Leonard, ND and at the age of 7, the family moved to Glyndon, MN. He graduated from Glyndon High School in 1956.  Upon graduation, he was offered college scholarships in four sports, but chose to begin a career in construction.  He worked in the area and in 1975, he established Schober Construction. He built and designed many homes including his kids and his own. He also did some commercial construction.  He was known to sit down and sketch out a house/remodel plan in minutes. He retired in 1999.

On October 17, 1959, Allan married Louise Dahl at Faith Lutheran Church in West Fargo. They enjoyed dancing and traveling. He also enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Al’s passion was his family and gardening. He was always willing to help anyone. He served as a volunteer fireman in West Fargo for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Louise, Harwood; his children, Rodney (Gail) Schober, West Fargo, Kathy (Dean) Weiss, Harwood, and Phyllis Gunderson, Harwood; grandchildren, Zachary (Lindsey) Gunderson, Tiffany (Brad) Eckholm, Matt Hystad, Christy (Joe) Dauer, Aaron (Ashley) Schober; and great grandchildren, Colin, Caiden, Caitlyn, Aiden, Reese.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Gordan McCray.

Visitation: Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND.

Funeral: Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 11 AM at Faith†Journey Lutheran Church, 127 2nd Ave. E., West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Harwood.
