Ronald Stinar Obituary

   Ronald J. Stinar, 90, Fargo, ND, died on Wednesday April 3rd, 2024, at Eventide in Fargo, ND.

   Ronald James Stinar was born November 7, 1933, in Fargo, ND to F.C. “Bud” and Gertrude (Hunter) Stinar. He grew up in Jamestown, ND and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1951. Ronald enlisted in the US Army in 1954, and trained with the 10th Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. On January 17, 1955, Ronald married Rosemary Walsh in Crookston, MN. They moved to Oakland, CA for a short period while Ronald served in the Army. They returned to Jamestown, ND, where they started a family and Ronald worked as a machinist for Burgard Machine Shop. They moved to West Fargo, ND in 1969, and Ronald worked for Alloway Manufacturing, until his retirement in 1996.

   Ron loved woodworking and built many things over the years, including his beautiful Intarsia pictures that he was so proud of. He was also proud of, and fondly shared with many, how he helped build the Buffalo in Jamestown, ND. Ron spent many years bowling and he enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. He had fond memories of when he and Rose spent some of their retirement years in Florida, along with the times throughout his life visiting friends and family. He had a love for music, with Polka as a favorite. Ron was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, West Fargo, ND for the past 55 years. He will be missed by his family and friends.

   Ronald is survived by his children, Wanda Caron, LaQuinta, CA, Cheryl (Bob) Abelmann, Fargo, ND, Laura (Doug) Roerick, West Fargo, ND, and Cory (Connie) Stinar, West Fargo, ND, son-in-law, Leroy Rieniets, West Fargo, ND, daughter-in-law, Shannan Stinar, Jamestown, ND; 13 grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Duane Stinar, Crookston, MN, Delbert Stinar, West Fargo, ND, sisters, Phyllis Stoddart, Bismarck, ND, and Kathleen (Gary) Bubalo, Hermantown, MN, sister-in-law, Mary Stinar, Mandan, ND, along with many nieces and nephews.

   He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosie of 54 years, daughter Linda Rieniets, son Timothy Stinar, son-in law John Caron, and brothers Donald and Darrell Stinar, brother-in-law Jerry Stoddart, sisters-in-law Charlotte and Sylvia Stinar, and nephew Michael Stinar.

Visitation:  Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 5-7 pm at West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND, with a prayer service at 7 pm.

Service:  Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 11 am, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND, with visitation one hour before the service.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery - North, at 1:30 pm, Fargo, ND.
