Victor “Bob” Wolter, 83, Fargo, ND died on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Villa Maria, Fargo.
Victor Robert Wolter was born February 17, 1935 in Glencoe, MN to Paul and Katherine (Rademaker) Wolter. He received his formal education in Colfax, ND. He attended and graduated from Valley City State College. In 1960 he married Carolyn King and they had one child. Carolyn passed away in 1966. In 1968 he married Mary Corcoran.
Bob was very proud to serve in the US Army for over 24 years, retiring as a Staff Sargent. After retiring from the US Army, he taught school and worked in the maintenance department at NDSU.
Bob was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Vietnam Veterans of America.
Bob is survived by his wife Mary, children: Joseph (Lynda), Sarah (Jamie) Fraase, Matthew (Liz), and Adam (Katie); 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers: Paul “Gene” (Marjorie), Virgil (Barbara), and Tom (Marlene) along with a sister Carol McCoy.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Carolyn, and brother Louis.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a donation made to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 5 – 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo with a prayer service at 7 PM.
Funeral: Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo, ND with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery, Casselton at 1:30 PM along with military rites.
