Thelma Eberhardt

Thelma Eberhardt, age 90, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of West Fargo, ND, died Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead.

Thelma Delores Rinas was born September 10, 1927, at Sisseton, SD, the daughter of Adolph and Emma (Hopp) Rinas.  She grew up Sisseton, attended country school, and graduated from Sisseton High School. Thelma later attended New York Hairdressing Academy at Fargo.

On August 31, 1951, Thelma was united in marriage to Arthur “Art” Eberhardt at Sisseton Assembly of God.  Following their marriage, they lived in Fargo where she worked for a time as a hairdresser.  They moved to West Fargo where together they raised their family.   Art Eberhardt died December 29, 2005.   Thelma moved to Eventide at Fairmont in Moorhead, and later entered Eventide Lutheran Home.

Her family remembers Thelma as being a godly woman with a great love for the Lord.  She was a ferocious reader, and she loved to cook, bake, and to garden.

Thelma is survived by two sons, Art (Vicki) Eberhardt, Fort Worth, TX, and Danny (Carmen) Eberhardt, Hawley, MN; two daughters, Deb (Gary) Globstad, Lake Park, MN, and Nancy (Kenny) Freiss, Fargo, ND; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Gustie Horton, Ellen Skarnagel, Ann DuBois and Freda Poyet.

She was preceded in death by her husband Art, her parents, a son-in-law Stan Haugen, three brothers, Dan, Michael, and Frank; and one sister Anna Rinas.

MEMORIAL SERVICE:  Monday, March 5, 2018 at 2:00PM in West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center, West Fargo

VISITATION:   One hour prior to her service at the funeral home

BURIAL:  ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND in the spring of 2018
