Sandy (Torgerson) Mattson

Sandy Mattson, 68, West Fargo, ND died on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND.

Sandra Diane Torgerson was born May 16, 1949 in Moorhead, MN to Kenneth and Mertice (Munson) Torgerson II.  She grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN and graduated from high school there. Upon graduation, she worked for Northwestern Bell where she met Bill Mattson. They were married on September 7, 1973 at Herby Lutheran Church, rural Argusville, ND. Sandy retired from the telephone company in 2004. She enjoyed spending time at Star Lake with family and friends in the summer and traveling in the winter. She also enjoyed belonging to a cooking club with her friends.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; two daughters, Melissa (Brady) Woodard of West Fargo and Amy (Kris) Cannode of Parker, CO; 5 grandchildren, Brooklyn and Brody Woodard, Kasey, Karsten and Aiden Cannode, a brother, Ken Torgerson III.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation: Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Funeral: Tuesday at 11 AM at First Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND

Burial: Herby Lutheran Cemetery, rural Argusville.
