Robert Riemer

Robert "Bob" Dale Riemer, 82, West Fargo, was born the youngest of five childern to Gustav and Dorthea (Engel) Riemer on November 1, 1934 in El Dorado Township.  Bob went to be with his Lord on August 28, 2017.

After graduating from Hillsboro High School, Bob went to work for Otto Bertsch Trucking as a semi driver.  He then worked for Nodak Rural Electric for twelve years as a lineman.  

Bob married Maureen (Sorum).  They had one son, Dean and a daughter, Kimberly. 

Bob worked as a lineman at Northern States Power before becoming a superintendent.  He retired from NSP in 1996.

Bob married Renae (Kirchoffner) on November 14, 1991.  They resided in West Fargo, ND.  

Bob enjoyed farming in his spare time.  He was an avid NDSU Bison fan for 45 years.  He was very easy going and loved to visit with people, his favorite topic being his time spent at NSP.

Bob is survived by his wife, Renae, son Dean (Karen) Riemer, daughter Kimberly Jacobson, step-daughters Rochell (Troy) Hoffert and Rachael Kirchoffner, grandchildren Robyn (Nick) Scherling, Nick Riemer, Rory Kendall, Emma Hoffert, Hunter Hoffert, Bella Kirchoffner, great-grandchildren Maverick and Addyson Scherling and Liveah Kendall, sister Elizabeth Riemer-Hanson, many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and brothers Donald, Vernon and Howard.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 4 – 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at the West Funeral Home, West Fargo. 

Memorial service on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior to the service. 

Burial will be at Immanuel Cemetery, Hillsboro, ND.
