Pauline Catherine (Miller) Geck

Pauline C. Geck, 85, Fargo, ND died on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo, ND.

Pauline Catherine Miller was born on October 31, 1931 at Hebron, ND to John J. and Catherine (Haag) Miller.  She grew up on the family farm near Richardton and attended St. Mary’s School.  She married Roger Geck on October 19, 1957 at Mount Angel, OR.  They made their home in Glen Ullin, then Linton, ND and later moved back to Glen Ullin where she worked at Doll’s Cafe. In 1976, they moved to West Fargo.  She worked at the Biltmore Hotel/Kelly Inn and then the Select Inn as a housekeeper until her retirement in 2006.  In 2008, she moved to Bethany Retirement Living on University in Fargo.

Pauline enjoyed camping and fishing as the kids grew up.  She also liked to play bingo, cards, cook and church.  She stayed very active at Bethany where she enjoyed their many different activities.

Pauline is survived by her three children: Kathleen (David) Sway, of Moorhead, MN, Sarah Jane (Richard) Unterscher, of Fargo, ND and Daniel (Laina) Geck, of Mapleton, ND; four grandchildren: Takara Geck, Cory Allen (Val) Haas, Derek (Kay) Sway and Koby (Amanda) Sway along with a great – grandchild Tessa Sway. Other survivors include her siblings: Leo (Colleen) Miller, of Richardton, Terrance Miller, of Dickinson, John (Diana) Miller, of Dickinson and Linda (Mel) Schmidt, of Bismarck along with two sisters–in–law: Dennise Miller, of Taylor, ND and Lorraine Geck, of Mandan, ND and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger, parents, and two brothers, Robert and James Miller.

Visitation will be Friday, June 23, 2017 from noon until 2 PM at Bethany Retirement Living on University followed by the funeral at 2 PM.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
