Michael Darrell Heflin

Mike Heflin, 41, Dilworth, MN, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, Jan 6, 2017.

Michael Darrell Heflin, also affectionately known as “Mikey Boy” and “Heffies” was born on September 21, 1975, in Fargo, to Darrell and Paulette (Blazek) Heflin. He grew up in West Fargo as a true West Fargo Packer from the get go! Mike was proud to be a member of the first West Fargo football team to have an undefeated, untied season and win the 1993 ND State Championship. He was very busy with many extracurricular activities, with football being his favorite. He graduated in 1994 and continued schooling at Northwest Tech and MSU. He received graduate degrees from both schools. After graduating college, Mike moved to Minneapolis, MN, where he worked in the Sales and Marketing industry. He later moved back to Dilworth to be with family.

Mike was one of kind. He will be remembered as a good person, a very caring person who was always willing to help out a friend or a stranger. Mike loved traveling with friends, going to concerts, watching and participating in sports, dancing, and most of all being with his family and friends (who he considered to be like brothers and sisters to him). His best friend in the world was his sister Angela. Mike was nothing short of a comedian, he had a way of walking into a room and making everyone laugh. He had a special gift with his magnificent personality and an infectious laugh which made him very sociable. Mike was also known to be very well read, he loved having deep discussions and detailed debates on all topics. One of Mike’s biggest achievements in life was his ability of being an incredible uncle to his nieces and nephew. They all had an unbreakable bond and a great love for each other. God has made a great addition to his team. We all love you “Mikey”!

Mike is survived by his father, Darrell Heflin, of Fargo; mother Paula Heflin, of Dilworth; sister Angie Prigelmeier, of Dilworth; nieces and nephews, Autumn, Ryan and Ashtyn; many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and MANY friends. Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorial Service: Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at 7 PM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation starting at 5:30 PM.
