Mary (Nordstrom) Weixel

Mary Weixel, 88, of West Fargo, ND, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, at Elim Care Center in Fargo.

Mary Josephine Weixel was born August 24, 1928, at Baldwin, ND to John and Nellie (Peterson) Nordstrom.  As a young girl, her family moved to Bismarck.  She graduated from the Bismarck High School and then married Walter Weixel on November 29, 1948  The couple moved to West Fargo in 1972 where she operated a home daycare for many years.  Walter died in January of 1998.  Mary remained in Bismarck until moving to Edgewood Vista and later to Elim Care Center in Fargo.

Mary loved all types of music, gardening and especially loved children.

Surviving are her children:  Paul (Terri) Weixel of Blanchard, ND,  Nancy (Rick) Mazzola of Corpus Christi, TX and Dianne (Steve) Nirschl of West Fargo;  6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a brother:  Gib (Evelyn) Nordstrom of Bismarck; a sister:  Anna Mae Haas of Elgin, ND; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 6 brothers and sisters.

Memorial Service 2 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the Elim Care Center Chapel in Fargo.  A second service will be held in Bismarck later this spring.
