Mary Goodin, age 91, Fargo, ND, formerly West Fargo died Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Bethany on 42nd.
Mary Agnes Smith was born on June 13, 1926, on the family farm near Walcott, ND, the daughter of Harvey and Maye (Allen) Smith. She graduated from high school at Walcott.
On October 14, 1943, Mary was united in marriage to Lawrence Goodin at her family farm. The first ten years of their marriage they lived in Colfax, ND. They moved to West Fargo where Mary worked eight years for the West Fargo Meat Packing Plant and then twenty-six years as a para professional with the West Fargo Middle School. In 1996, she and Lawrence built a house and moved to Fargo. Lawrence passed away in 1998.
Mary was an active member and volunteer of Faith Lutheran Church. Her family remembers her as enjoying fishing with Lawrence in the summers and going to Minnesota resorts with the family. She also enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and making (the best !) lefse.
She is survived by four sons, Roy (Sandra) Goodin, West Fargo, ND, Dennis (Mavis) Goodin, Grant, NE, Vern (Helen) Goodin, Moorhead, MN, David (Patricia) Goodin, Bismarck, ND; eleven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence, sisters Joyce Ellenson, Jeanne Anderson, and Helen Anderson; a brother Ray Smith and an infant brother Wayne Smith.
Visitation: Friday, April 27, 2018 from 5-7PM, with a Prayer Service held at 7PM, in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND
Funeral: Saturday at 10:30AM in Faith ┼ Journey Lutheran Church, 127-2nd Ave E, West Fargo, ND
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND
