Lynn H. Nelson

Lynn Nelson, 79, Fargo, ND died on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 at Sanford Health on Broadway, Fargo, ND.

Lynn Howard Nelson was born August 20, 1938, to Howard and Georgine (Jahnke) Nelson, in Fargo, ND. He grew up on a farm near Mapleton, ND.

Lynn married Nancy Karen Cockerill on July 22, 1958 at Mapleton, ND. They made their home on a farm near Casselton, ND where Lynn farmed until the early 1970's. He also drove semi-truck for Midwest Motor Express until the early 1990's. After retiring from Midwest, he enjoyed operating heavy equipment for neighbors and friends.

Lynn is survived by his son, Mike (Pam) Nelson, rural Casselton and daughter, Karen (Tim) Kensok, Frisco, TX; five granddaughters; four great granddaughters; brother, Roger (Kathy) Nelson, Fountain Hills, AZ; sister, Loree (Merle) Jegtvig, Hawley, MN; sister-in-law, Betty Trom, Fargo; and many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Nancy who passed away on October 9, 1999.

Memorials are preferred to the Casselton Ambulance or to the donor’s choice.

Funeral: Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at 11 AM at West Funeral Home Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior and reception following.

Burial: Casselton Cemetery.
