LeRoy Bowman

LeRoy Bowman, 88, of Fargo, died Saturday, August 12, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo.

LeRoy Albrecht Bowman was born on August 4, 1929 at Kenmare, ND to Edgar and Eline (Sorensen) Bowman.  He graduated from Donnybrook High School, completed a bachelor’s degree at Minot Teacher’s College and received a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of North Dakota.  LeRoy served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War.  On August 7, 1950, LeRoy married Esther Kling at Minot, ND.  They lived in various areas throughout North Dakota while he worked as a school administrator for different school districts in North Dakota.  Esther passed away November 2, 2014.

He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, member of the Masonic Lodge, member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League.

LeRoy is survived by:  a son, Stewart (Carole) Bowman, St. Paul Park, MN; a daughter, Susan Koch, Valencia, CA; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Esther.

Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, at West Funeral Home Chapel in West Fargo.

Visitation: An hour prior to the service

Burial: North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan, ND
