JoAnn Rueckert

JoAnn Jane Rueckert, 82, of Fargo, ND,  passed away Friday, August 11 2017, at Elim Care in Fargo under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

JoAnn was born August 17, 1934, at Page, ND, the daughter of Joe, Sr. and Evelyn (Young) Long.  She was raised in Page and graduated from Page High School in 1952.  JoAnn worked at the Bowling Alley in Page where she met LeRoy Frederick Rueckert, Sr.  They were married June 20, 1953 in Page.  The couple farmed South of Ayr, ND, raising six children.  LeRoy passed away in March of 1987.  She remained on the farm until moving to Fargo in September of 2006.

JoAnn enjoyed ceramics, bowling,  baking and was noted for her banana bread; playing cards, bingo and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to share her memory are her children:  Joey (Stephanie) Rueckert,  Kevin (Rita) Rueckert,  Mike (Maureen) Rueckert and Carmel Rueckert;  28 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren;  siblings: twin brother:  Joe (Ardele) Long, Jr.,  Marlene Woodbury,  Claudia Ezzel, and  Kim (Julie) Long;  sister-in-law:  Jean Long; numerous nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents;  husband;  sons:  Randal and LeRoy, Jr; grandson:  Jeremy Rueckert;  great-granddaughter:  Georgia Rueckert;  brother:  Donald “Red” Long, Sr.;  brothers-in-law:  Donald “Woody” Woodbury, Sr.  and Edward Ezzel.

Visitation:  5 to 7pm Tuesday, August 15 followed by a Time of Sharing at 7 p.m. at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo

Funeral:  1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16 at the West Funeral Home in West Fargo

Burial:  Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, ND
