Jean (Nelson) Burner

Jean Burner, 90, West Fargo, ND died on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Jean Lillian Nelson was born in Fargo on August 27, 1927 to Rudy and Beryl (Boyd) Nelson. Jean received her 8th grade education graduating from District No. 76 on May 28, 1941. She then graduated from West Fargo High School on May 24, 1945.

On June 15, 1947, Jean was united in marriage to Milton Burner at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Horace, ND. They made their home in West Fargo and were blessed with 5 children. Jean worked at Armour & Co., The Fargo Forum, Dalco and retired in 1991 after 26 ½ years with Bell Bank of West Fargo.

She was a great mom and grandma. She was a charter member of the West Fargo VFW Ladies Auxiliary and longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church. Milt and Jean spent many summers at their lake home on Middle Cormorant Lake. She also enjoyed tending her flower gardens.

Jean is survived by three children: Jim (Viki) Burner, Apache Junction, AZ, Terry (Gail) Burner, West Fargo and Kent Burner, Kindred, ND;  grandchildren: Dr. James Burner, Bobbie (Andrea) Burner, Tom Burner, Tim (LaRissa) Burner, Trisha (Brandon) Claeys; great grandchildren: Jordyn Burner, Kacie Burner, Lillian Burner and Chase Burner; a brother, Neil (Anne) Nelson and a sister, Lora Morris (Paul) Stark.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton of 68 years; two sons, Dean and Keith; two brothers, Hank and Jack and a sister, Betty.

Visitation: Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2017 from 6 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Faith Lutheran Church, West Fargo.

Funeral:  Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Faith Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
