Gloria M. Wadeson, 91, Fargo, ND, died Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Edgewood Vista.

Gloria was born December 24, 1925, in Maddock, ND to John and Caroline (Hendrikson) Nelson.

She attended Benson County Agricultural and Training School in Maddock, ND and later went onto Dakota Business College in Fargo. Gloria put that education to use throughout her life. She worked as a bookkeeper for Mobil Oil, Hegland Signs and Gopher Auger, later retiring from Blue Cross Blue Shield.

On December 14, 1947, Gloria married Warren Wadeson in Fargo, ND. Together they were blessed with five children. Warren passed away Jan. 15, 2000.

Gloria was a smart and ethical woman. She was open to new ways of thinking and doing things.  Her spirit of adventure created many opportunities in her life.  She and Warren loved to travel and enjoyed several road trips throughout the United States, especially visiting their sons in Alaska.  At the age of 75 she flew to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, to join her family. She was seen driving a four-wheeler over the dunes with a bandana to protect herself from the sand.

Gloria was a caring woman. She gave her time to others and volunteered many hours at several community organizations such as Prairie Public Broadcasting and Northern Lights Boy Scouts. She was an avid bowler and played on various leagues. Gloria will be remembered as a talented quilter. Every stitch was an expression of her love to all the family and friends who received one. Her grandchildren will always cherish the quilts she made for their high school graduations. Hers was a life that shaped us all in many ways.

Carrying on her memory are her five children; George (Mary) of Colorado Springs, CO, Greg (Rhonda) of Fairbanks, AK, Lynn (Lori), Larry (Colleen), and Susan (Troy) Anderson all of Fargo, ND; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Tawny, Travis, Ty, Arianne, Heather, Corrina, Ashley, Jennifer, and Aaron; and five great grandchildren, Kaia, Rosemary, Ellie, Warren, and Mara.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

The family would like to thank the staff at Edgewood Vista and Hospice of the RRV for their care for Gloria.

Memorials preferred to Prairie Public Broadcasting, Northern Lights Council Boy Scouts of America, or YWCA Cass Clay.

Funeral: Friday, October 20, 2017, at 11 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND, with visitation from 10 to 11 am.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
